New Clinic Opens on Skid Row - “Partners in Health” by Rick Nahmias

From 2003 through 2009, Weingart Foundation sponsored a collaborative process that led to the creation of the Center for Community Health (CCH), a state-of-the-art integrated health facility in downtown Los Angeles’ Skid Row District. This clinic will serve up to 9,000 people annually. CCH is not just unique for what it represents to its patients – a well-staffed, modern facility completely dedicated to serving the comprehensive health needs of the indigent of the area – but it is equally notable to those in the healthcare and philanthropic worlds. CCH was developed through a historic private-public partnership. Click here to read more about CCH.

New Report Forms

The Foundation has revised its progress reporting system. On an ongoing basis, the Foundation attempts to balance our interest and responsibility in tracking the progress of our grants, while ensuring that our reporting process is uncomplicated, appropriate and manageable for grantees. New forms are now available on the home page of our web site. Organizations awarded Core Support or Small Grant Program funding are only expected to report annually, while all others will continue to report semi-annually. We are eager to hear of our grantees’ accomplishments, as well as challenges, and hope that these changes will make reporting easier.
